Open Government Partnership Program

Become an OGP country member
The OGP was formally launched on September 20, 2011 as a global effort to make governments more effective and accountable. The multilateral initiative of the OGP requires a strong commitment from participating governments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance and their institutional regimes. Since September, 2011, the Partnership has grown with the commitment of 55 governments to join the OGP.

In the spirit of multi-stakeholder collaboration the OGP participating countries must embrace the Open Government Declaration. The OGP participants must deliver an action plan that includes crowdsourcing public engagement and commit to independent reporting on their progress. Action plans are structured to improve public services, increase public integrity, be more effective in managing public resources, create safer communities, and increase corporate accountability.
